Dear Professor Oak.

Post  Guest on Thu Feb 28, 2008 11:57 am

Hello there!

I have seen you prowling around Yahoo!Answers quite often, and have recently discovered your forum! I wonder if you still maintain and come on here?

Anyway, I have a few questions. First off, why do you spend so much time helping people around the world with their Pokemon needs? And also, why give away free Pokemon? It is VERY kind of you, and I was just wondering what spurred you on to do it.

Also, I am currently breeding Eevees on my Pokemon Diamond. I would like all the evolutions eventually. My only problem is, their nature always seems rash, and they are all boys! I have been breeding my male Eevee from Bebe with a ditto at the daycare, will he only produce male baby Eevees? I would very much like a female so I can do more breeding tricks.

Do you have any tips to help me breed my Eevees more efficiently? Better nature, maybe with a great ability.. Get a female??

I will breed a tonne of Eevees and spread them all around the world! I shall be the Eevee master.

Thanks, Prof.!

Dani.

Thank you for your questions and praise, Eon-natic!

I spend time answering peoples questions about Pokémon because that is what I do! As a Pokémon Professor, part of that job is to help people better understand Pokémon in proper training, rasing and care.
As for giving away the three Kanto Starters, it's what I have always done since becoming as Professor, as we are qualified to give out starters to beginning Pokémon trainers.

For breeding your Eevees, the nature that they seem to be born with is always random. It's very difficult to obtain the right nature you want for your Pokémon. A somewhat easier way would be with a Ditto and an Everstone.
It is true that an Everstone prevents Pokémon from evolving when they hold it, however, for Ditto, it has a different effect.

If you have a Ditto hold an Everstone and then breed it with any other Pokémon that is able to yeild eggs, there is a 50% chance that the egg Pokémon will have the same Nature as Ditto. Of course, you would have to make sure that the Ditto you have has the Nature you want!

Female Eevees are a bit difficult. Males are the most common in the Eevee species, they have a gender rate of about 87.5% while females are about 12.5%. You will just have to keep breeding until you get a female Eevee. It is hard, but you will get one eventually.
