A new DS would have no effect on your Wi-Fi or your Friend Code, actually, it might improve it as the DS Lite supports a wider Wi-Fi range than the old Nintendo DS.

Your Friend Code is stored automatically on your game, it has always been programed in there, you just needed to log onto the Wi-Fi Club to have it unlocked. Inserting your Diamond or Pearl game in another DS will not change your code.

A question about WiFi and friend codes.

Hey there, Prof.!

I hope you can help me with this, it is not strictly a Pokemon question.

I still have an old style NDS, and I am planning to upgrade to a DS Lite (My mother wants the braintraining game, and hasn't got a DS, and I figured if I get the NDS Lite, which I want, I can give her my old DS to save her money)

Would my WiFi be affected if I got a new DS? It says my Pokemon game and my DS is considered a pack on WiFi.. I don't quite understand this! If I plonked my Pokemon game into my new DS, would there be any problems in connecting to WiFi and using my friend code? A different friend code wouldn't matter to me, but would anything be changed?

I know this is more of a techy question, but I hope you can help me! And I also hope my question made sense!

Thanks in advance,

Dani xx
